Dukey's Adventure Day 2

July 12, 2015-

While I miss my human pack tremendously the past day and a half, and will continue to do so....I am trying to make the best of it with my secondary pack here with Scout, Sandy, Candycane, and Benji, oh yeah, and Pam!

This morning Scout and Pam went to check out the course and conditions in Central Park for Scout's race, the NYC AMC Doggy Dash (www.nyctri.com/doggydash). But they got home in time to pick me up and take a ride down to cheer on the final finishers at the Thunder Run race here in Smithtown. I only walked about 3/4 of the course but I know if they allow me to run it next year I can give people doing the race a race for their money! Hopefully Terry Bisogno, the Long Island race announcer will be calling my name at that race next year! Oh, and I found out our GLIRC president was surprised to hear that they were not letting the dogs run the 5k and only the dogwalk at the upcoming race in Bethpage on August 22nd. Afterall the charity it is run for is the American Vet Dogs here in Smithtown, so stayed tuned as Mike said he was going to talk to the powers that be at the Guide Dog/ American Vet Dogs office! FINGERS CROSSED....that should be a good race.

Oh when my temporary pack members were in the city, I got to spend a good 45 minutes outside and in the gazebo running a muck and having fun! Pam has the AC on and will be opening the doggy door today so we have access to everything! I like to follow her around like a little puppy dog.

In fact, when we walked over to see everyone at the race I looked like just that and got all the oohhhsss and aahhhsss........Scout had to snatch a bagel or two to get noticed.......then again to come up to a dog with food in your hand, oh who are we kidding Pam needs to give us FULL attention ALL the time.....Lesson learned for Pam!

 Oh yeah as I drove down to the race, I made sure to always use my mirrors!




Like I said yesterday, size doesn't matter......and I think this photo proves it, I mean look at the size of my legs vs Scout's and I am right next to him......Bring it Scout! I can take you on anyday, anytime.....If Mike gets the powers that be watch Eliana and myself take you and Pam on and beat you into the ground! We'll probably have to start in the back of the crowd but it doesn't matter we'll take you down! Down to Chinatown!



I may be smaller than you but watch out I can take you on anyday! See you at the next race SCOUT!

Ok, so that is what I am up to so far in my day......I'm going to enjoy the outside and blog more for Mom and my crew to see what I'm up to tomorrow until then I know my family did AWESOME at their tri in the Cape because they are awesome athletes! Next year I will hide in your bag and no one will ever know I'm with you.....I'll train with you the next year to not be heard of seen! Deal?!?!??! I do love my pack here but I miss my family!

Duke' adventure Day 1

July 11, 2015-

So, this is going to be my week long blog so my human companions can know what I am upto.......so here it goes......

First and foremost that handsome pup to the right is me! I am the DUKE of it all! Pam knows my name is Dukey but chooses to call me the Duke because she feels as though hey I am ROYALTY! And feels my human family literally treats me as such!  (sshhh.....I know they do!)

Ok, so I get to hang out with my new pack members Sandy, Candycane, and Scout! In fact, last night I wanted to lie down with Sandy but because Sandy is a little older and abit sensitive if there is some bumping or just in case I tend to be 'ROYAL' and want my space Pam keep us separated. Maybe we can try again tonight- maybe! So anyway Scout came off the bed to lie with me on my bed and I felt so comfy with him by my side (even though he is like 10X my size- but hey size doesn't matter- hhmmmm......)

So here we are on Saturday morning at 11:45am and I can safely tell my human "Mom" Eliana and the rest of my human pack that I am ok- missing them and looking for them as I will be all week but I have yet to be left alone and with all the humans and canines around me I will be content until we are together again! I promise......so even though you had no choice than to leave me behind know you made a nice decision leaving me here! Pam let me go off leash next door and I ran right to the gazebo......whenever I want to go next door I stand by the gate and they open it for me- RELAX, Mom- Pam first tried this with a dropped leash!.......Yep, that's me at the left side waiting to go over!




While I was over there I got to smell the flowers- organically grown flowers! Pam's Mom, Joan loves her flowers! NO ROUND UP is used on them! So those nasty chemicals are forbidden around here!





Then I was able to eat in the gazebo, here are some shots of my bowl with the chicken already gone......and yes, I am turning my nose up at the dogfood......You spoiled me so now I want my chicken- Pam the VEGAN is being so cool about the chicken though- I am being respectful of my canine vegan pack as well by eating in the gazebo! Hey I ate my chicken so I am eating, when I get hungry enough I will eat my dog food. I did get some belly rubs here and was in heaven!

Pam said she wasn't sure if we had a gazebo or not , so she said if we don't have one we need one now!

 

Ok, so until tomorrow I need to get off the computer because Scout needs to do his blog......

Oh- I have to mention if time permits Pam was going to bring me down to watch everyone run the THUNDER RUN down the road from their house tomorrow, Scout and her will go out early for their training run and then I may get to see Mike and all my GLIRC teammates!
